Call us:
Croyland Maintained Nursery School and Day Nursery has been part of the community for 80 years. The School is open all year round from Monday to Friday, providing a wide range of educational and care places for children from the age six months to aged five.
The School is open from 8am to 6pm. We have a dedicated team of nursery practitioners, teachers and leaders who are passionate for providing the best quality care and education for all children. We work in partnership with our parents right from the start from a home visit and play sessions, before a child starts.
We build positive relationships with parents and children to ensure every child feels secure and thrives.
Our Ethos
We build a secure foundation for all children and their families to become happy, confident, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a lifelong love of learning.

New Early Years Specialist Provision officially opened at Croyland Nursery School
A new Early Years Specialist Provision – named Sunflowers - has been officially opened at Croyland Nursery School.
The Mayor, Valerie Anslow cut the ribbon (and cake!) to declare the unit open – joined by a large gathering from the local community including Early Years professionals, members of Wellingborough Town Council, families and staff.
The pilot provision established by North Northamptonshire Council and Croyland Nursery School, aims to create a specialist provision for young children with moderate or significant communication and social interaction difficulties.
The provision aims to implement adaptations and modifications to the curriculum and teaching approaches to enable the children to make excellent progress. The aim is that the children will then move into primary schools or a specialist provision with an understanding of the adaptations required for their continued success. With a high number of children not able to access their school place at statutory school age and children starting school without a clear plan of what support is required, the need for units of this type is increasing.
There are currently 9 children already attending the provision, aged 3-5 years, with all making exceptional progress. It is hoped that the success of this pilot provision continues and that there will be opportunities to grow this model across North Northants, so that all children have an equal opportunity to develop their talents and thrive.

Staff Training Day
Staff are very well inducted and supervised and have regular appraisals. We close on 3 days per year for staff training.
Our last training day on 22nd October 2021 was our first joint training day as 'Foundations for Children Nursery Schools Federation.' The Federation comprises of Camrose Early Years Centre, Parklands Nursery School, both in Northampton, and Croyland and Highfield Nursery Schools in Wellingborough. The training day was focused on the Early Years Reforms for Education and Care of children aged 0-5 years, published in Sept 21.
These professional development opportunities allow the teachers and practitioners working with your children to be up to date with the most effective teaching and learning strategies that can help all children achieve their full potential. As you can see from the photos there were many opportunities to share and discuss best practice across the four Nursery Schools.
Please see some pics from the day below.
